Do you charge families for your services?

No. Our guidance is completely free to families. We're compensated by the senior living communities when a placement is made.

How do you choose which communities to recommend?

We only recommend communities we've personally vetted and would feel comfortable placing our own loved ones in.

What types of communities do you help with?

Assisted living, memory care, independent living, and board & care homes — depending on your loved one's needs.

How quickly can you help us find a place?

We can assist with both urgent placements and long-term planning. In urgent cases, we often help families find options within 24-48 hours.

What makes Golden Years different from other senior placement services?

We're locally owned, not a big call center. That means personalized guidance, fewer phone calls, and recommendations based on real knowledge of the communities in your area.

Will communities start calling me if I contact you?

No. We protect your privacy. You won't be bombarded with sales calls from multiple communities.

What if my loved one doesn't want to move?

We understand this is an emotional decision. We can help you navigate conversations with your loved one and explore supportive communities that feel like home.

How do you know if a community is safe and high quality?

We personally visit and evaluate communities, checking for quality of care, cleanliness, safety, and overall environment. We only recommend places we would trust with our own family.

How do families typically pay for senior living?

Families use a variety of resources such as personal savings, pensions, retirement accounts, selling a home, reverse mortgages, long-term care insurance, Veterans Aid & Attendance, or Medi-Cal programs. We can help you explore the best options for your family.

Can a reverse mortgage help pay for senior care?

Yes, a reverse mortgage allows seniors to tap into the equity in their home to cover care expenses. We can connect you with trusted mortgage professionals who specialize in these programs.

What if we need to sell a home to pay for care?

Selling a home is one of the most common ways families fund senior care. As a licensed real estate broker and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), I can personally guide you through this process with compassion and expertise, ensuring a smooth transition and the best outcome for your family. Does long-term care insurance cover assisted living or memory care?

In many cases, yes. Policies vary, but long-term care insurance can help offset the costs of assisted living, memory care, and other support. We can help review your options and connect you with professionals who specialize in claim assistance.

What is the Veterans Aid and Attendance benefit?

Aid and Attendance is a VA program that provides monthly financial assistance to qualifying veterans and surviving spouses to help cover senior care. We can guide you to trusted resources that assist with eligibility and applications.

What is the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW)?

The Assisted Living Waiver is a Medi-Cal program that allows eligible seniors who need a nursing-home level of care to instead live in an assisted living community. We can help you determine if your loved one may qualify and connect you with providers who participate in this program.

Can Medicare or Medi-Cal help pay for assisted living?

Medicare generally does not cover assisted living, but Medi-Cal may help with certain long-term care services, including through programs like ALW. We can point you to trusted specialists who can help with applications and approvals.

Can you help if my loved one needs memory care?

Yes. We specialize in guiding families through the unique challenges of memory care placement and helping you find the right fit

What if we're Just starting to explore options?

That's actually the best time to reach out. We can walk you through the process and reduce stress before things become urgent

Do you only work with certain communities?

No. We explore a wide range of options so you can make the choice that best fits your loved one's needs, lifestyle, and budget
